Štegers fourth book, Knjiga reči (The book of things), is the ideal introduction to his work for English readers. Published in Slovenia in 2005, the book consists of 50 poems-a proem folloved by seven sections of seven poems each. The books careful architecture is reflected in the poems themselves, most of which are composed in couplets, tercets, or quatrrains, a departure from Štegers largely stanzaless poems in his previous books.
